Why is strenuous walking or running always a bad switch between stress and relaxation?
Fast walking, manipulating hands and legs in space or even faster running is not "stressing everything at once".It is clear to turn on what is needed and immediately release the unnecessary.The problem of tight running is that this tension does not go anywhere:
• when you need to relax - the child is holding a blow;
• when you need to turn on - it has long been stuck, folded, is in endless bending.
There is no truly free phase: neither in the legs, nor in the arms, nor in the body.The body begins to compensate: the top clamps - shoulders, neck!, face.
A child with autism literally pulls himself forward with the whole body. Every step goes through resistance, as if a bar is tied behind him.
Tensed running is always a bad switch. A child with developmental characteristics cannot:
• to activate the necessary muscles;
Disable the antagonists as quickly as possible.
And running and walking is based on this:
• instantaneous change of “in / off”;
• elasticity and mobility of joints;
• freedom of joint and muscular movement, and not on brute force and dragging the child by the hand!
• on the respiratory, joint and muscular cycle "Reduction - Relaxation".
Therefore, endlessly engaging only in strength work or behavioral corrections is useless and meaningless. strong but tight. shortened muscle makes running, walking only slower and more painful.
